This is good news for getting to work tomorrow.

Neither of these actions helped with my problems.

This was taken while waiting to see a doctor about my knee. Four others told me I'd pulled a ligament. This doctor told me my ligaments are perfect and the pain is caused by my cartilage.

After a run in the rain and a kick in the teeth.

'A want is a lack but also desire'

'A need can be nothing but should be held higher'

Sometime next week I shall have this pretty little thing and I shall SHOOT with it.

Boxes of reminders.

The things from you, about you, for you

were already contained.

Now they're in the box with all the others.

I'm still not sure I want to hold onto it all.

Some things in common.

This is my little sister and her book collection. We're quite similar, me and her. We both would love to have our own library one day. With a spiral staircase and a large old clock.

She got a new bookcase as she was in dire need of more space. The books are now alphabetised on the new shelves.

The moment of truth?...

They're pretty curly still and the paper/emulsion isn't completely dry so we'll see how well this works once they're dry and flattened out properly! The top left one gave me some trouble, I may find myself having to soak it and re-glue it down at some point.

Proper scans when they're not so soggy and fragile.

Instructions came from HERE and HERE.

Success!

I have been planning on trying this for some time but only just had the time/remembered to try it. First two attempts resulted in the emulsion drying and then flying away across the garden, attempt No.3 however, appears to have worked perfectly!

It was just a spare test that I did when I first got the polaroid back for the Graphic, underexposed and fogged (for what reason, I still don't know) but there is at least some kind of an image on it so it was better than the first two anyway (which were just black).

I'm going to use these snow photos (and a couple of others that aren't on Flickr) for my first 'serious' attempt at this. I'm thinking I'm going to try and center them in the middle of a full sheet (A4ish size) of water colour paper. They're pretty pale already and may go even more so once transferred but I think they could end up looking really nice, I'm hoping so anyway!

And one for me too...

I'd been meaning to replace my last wallet for a long time. This one is quite possibly my favourite ever.

...

I want to break into your house

take pictures of myself

on your sofa

in your bed

using your shower

and leave them there for you to find....

The sun is shining again.

Nothing particularly exciting. Just a few snaps from the past couple of days.

The cats love being able to roam about the garden. Isobel has been smelling everything with such gusto that she has sneezing fits every few minutes. Not to mention the constant expression of shock you see above.

Phoebe has had her room painted. The walls are pink. The new bed sheets are pink. The lamp glows pink. It's just too much for me. It's like being inside a marshmallow. But in the over-the-top and suffocating sort of way.

The kitchen/dining room is also awaiting re-painting. Nordic Spa or Soft Khaki?... Who chooses these names?!

Somehow this has ended up a rather colourful entry.

I love finding good quotes.

“Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery—celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: ‘It’s not where you take things from—it’s where you take them to.’”

-Jim Jarmusch

Found HERE.

I like this take on 'inspiration' very much. It's a very positive view on the issue of originality I think.

I cycled to work for the first time yesterday. 14 mile round trip. Haven't sat on a bike in months. Yes, it was difficult.

It was also muddy. VERY muddy.

I didn't get a picture of my bike before I hosed it down. It started out silver but was mostly brown by the time I got home.

If only I had a darkroom.

These guys are just gathering dust. I want to be shooting 120mm colour neg film and printing in a darkroom. Alas, not so simple these days.
